Chewing gum
Like there’s too much red
And there’s too much red
In my mouth
And then you phone
And then you come
And prove me wrong
I’m not on my own
How much damage can I do
In one hour
When I’m alone?
This phone is tapped
Come over and see me
This place is not safe
And we’ve got plans to make
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
A record so nice, I bought it twice. I haven't stopped listening to "Book Of Curses" digitally since it came out in November. So when Bandcamp Friday came around and I saw a few copies of the limited edition were left, it was time to buy it physically. A perfect, contemporary encapsulation of where the four members came from before, and where they'll take music going forward. Here's to hoping they make it to the States when this whole pandemic thing gets sorted out. Ape Mummy
This Seattle 3-piece blast out their frisky punk LP via Kill Rock Stars. You might want to avoid their couch, though. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 16, 2015
This Baltimore group rough up post-punk with dark post-hardcore riffs and chaotic choruses, never losing a fine-tuned sense of melody. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 13, 2024
What a fantastic find. Throws all of my love for Wire, Minutemen, The Waitresses, and every other herky-jerky art-punk band, into a blender and comes out better than a kale smoothie. But beyond the nostalgia factor, these are sharp songwriters and arrangements. Excited to see them live tomorrow night! Ragle Gumm
